You’re not lost. You’re here.

We’ve always wanted good information to help us to get around. Now, more than ever, we all want clear guidance to help us navigate this new world.

Stand here, please don’t sit on this seat, use the one way system.

But now this isn’t just about getting from A to B it’s about staying safe, so it’s vital we get this right.

Disabled people are telling us that yes, improving signage will be helpful as will more audible announcements, better pre-journey planning info and more, well trained staff. But perhaps more importantly, as well as being clear and inclusive, including some latitude while we all work things out will help everyone to build confidence. In short, our communications (and yes, signage) could benefit from some kindness and patience built in.

Clear, inclusive and supportive communications will not only help us to get around but also enable us to play our part in keeping everyone safe and healthy. Now is the time to choose to be truly inclusive as we rebuild post-pandemic environments and services, taking the time to understand and respond to everyone’s new concerns, priorities and behaviours.
